Fall is just about to start in Walla Walla, you can see it with the change in our sunrise and sunsets. It is beautiful just watching the days get shorter and the weather cooling down. I love fall in Walla Walla, it just doesn’t get any better.

Remember the Frontier Days parade is this Saturday. The parade starts at 10:00am and if you need a good seat to watch it from, come to Coldwell Banker First Realtors located at 218 West Main and get a good chair on the curb to watch the groups parade down Main. Have have a cookie, coffee, and or juice compliments of the company.

Image result for walla walla pdA short thank you to the Walla Walla Police force and their careful, watchful eyes during the Macklemore Concert this past Thursday. They kept the neighborhood safe and no damage or issues in our neighborhood. I know we all appreciated their effort. Thank you Chief Bieber.

Our children are in school and Whitman has started. I love seeing the school buses and the Whitman students crossing Isaacs at the cross walk. They are very active and all of us need to be very careful while driving. When you see the Image result for walla walla school busschool bus with the lights on please stop and when the lights are flashing on Isaacs for our Whitman students please stop. We do not need any accidents with our children and our students. Community College and Walla Walla University are going to gear up soon so be aware of the numerous activities with in our community.

Real Estate is solid in Walla Walla. Inventory is short and we are seeing some multiple offers on well-priced, well located, and in good condition homes. Prices are moving ahead but not dramatically – just solid, and with great rates for the loans to purchase a new home couldn’t be any better. Talk about your needs if they are immediate and then reach out to a Real Estate Broker and lender. Rates will be going up by the start of 2017, don’t miss your opportunity.

Come out to watch the parade on Saturday and catch the fair.

Have a great September.

https://focusedmomentsdotnet.files.wordpress.com/2012/04/20120430-204557.jpg?w=293&h=195I just returned from my annual summer salmon fishing trip to Coastal Springs Float Lodge near Knight’s Inlet in British Columbia. It is a real adventure. My good friend Phil Wasser first worked with me to finally get me to agree to go. I have been back for the past eleven years and hope to continue for many years in the future. It is a Float Lodge tucked into a wonderful bay where we dock our four nice 20 ft boats and where we sit with a glass of wine and talk among the friends that are with us. Only eight can attend, two in each boat with a guide and we fish from 4:30 AM to 8 PM each day with a break at 10:30 AM for a brunch which is out of this world. Wendy is our beautiful cook and her food is to die for. We came back again with fifty pounds of salmon filets, which are the best tasting fish in the world.

We are dealing with a homelessness issue in Walla Walla and it appears to be growing somewhat. Chief Bieber is working with the community, the Chamber, and local organizations to help at whatever level they can in their work on the streets with foot patrols and orientations. I am not sure how we solve it but for the young people on the streets it starts at home. Parents need to be a part of their children’s lives and guide them through the tough parts of life and if they need help, look for it. The mentally ill is a tough issue and I do not know how that can be solved. We need to find a way to keep them off the streets.

https://i0.wp.com/thebaileyteam.net/wp-content/uploads/2013/06/real-estate-market.jpgReal Estate in Walla Walla is still strong. Inventories are low and well-priced homes sell rapidly and some end up with multiple offers, but prices are not going up in a crazy way. Just really solid. In Walla Walla and College Place we had 90 residential homes come into our market in July. That includes condos, manufactured, and single family units but not multi-family or duplexes. Rates are fantastic currently with one family getting an FHA loan for 3 ½ %. This is amazing, because most of my Real Estate career the rates were around 10% and as high as 18%!

All is well, and we are looking forward to our new community pool next year. It is so much fun to watch the kids playing at the splash pad at Washington Park in our warm weather.    Good work, and thank you to Rotary for assisting in the financing of the construction.

Rumors, I usually do not talk about rumors but I heard from a solid source that Andy’s market in College place might be moving to the Mall off Rose and putting a different type of bulk grocery at their current site. Big change if it is true.

Always change in Walla Walla

Thanks!  Let me know if I can assist.
