Veterans Day was yesterday.   I hope we all pause to pray for our past Veterans and the men and women serving in our current wars zones.   They are the part of our country that has helped us live the lives we live today.   I have such emotional feelings about the Veterans from the Vietnam conflict and how they were treated on their return, almost as if they were criminals.   In college at Central Washington I saw men returning with severe damage to their bodies and minds and students spitting on them and call them baby killers.    I got in trouble one day trying to physically stop that type of action.   I am glad I do not see that with our returning vets this time around.

I talked with a Vietnam veteran in my office on Saturday and he told me it was more than 20 years before anyone thanked him for serving.   Isn’t that sad.    Tom Craig told me when he received the thank you it brought tears to his eyes.    We have two veterans here at Coldwell Banker First Realtors, Tom Craig and David Hull along with Les Broome who served 6 years in the army reserves.  If you have not thanked them you should.   Thank you all for serving.

I sat out on my new stone seats Sunday to watch the parade waiving a small American Flag as the groups passed by and I felt pride in the fact they were still so proud of serving they take the time to walk Main Street.    Unfortunately, we needed more people on the side lines cheering them on.   Maybe Sunday was not the best day.     Also, I feel the Union Bulletin should have given them more attention so that people would have known about the parade.  I had several comments in my office that people were not aware the parade was taking place Sunday.

Take a look at some the photos Nikki Phillips took Sunday and you will see the pride in their eyes.

Take care…
