George Kaup

Hi, I am George Kaup, Co-Owner/Broker of Coldwell Banker First Realtors in Milton Freewater OR.  In a continuing effort to grow and learn I am getting ready to venture into blogging.  While I am in the process of setting up my own blog site, I wanted to take a quick moment to introduce myself.  In future blogs I will and share information with you about the reality of real estate in the section of Umatilla County OR that I grew up in.

Not everyone can say that they were their father’s 25th Christmas and birthday gift.  My dad, Fred Kaup Sr. was born December 25, 1926 and I presented myself on December 25, 1952 in Pendleton OR.

1952 was a big year for our family.  It began with my parents purchasing a MF skatemarket in Athena OR which meant that my dad left his job as a meat cutter for a grocery store in Umatilla OR, moved his family of 3.5 to Athena and welcomed me.

I learned about honesty, integrity and getting the job done from my parents.  They taught me about the important things in life.  My dad put in long hours building his business of 7 stores but he always made time to coach his kids and be there for his family.  My mom is the best.  Together they are still the examples I try to live up to.  My sons, Tyson and Brandon, are young men I am proud of.  I couldn’t ask to be a father of two finer boys.

mf applesI became a Realtor in 1995.  I wanted to utilize my experience working in my parent’s stores with my desire to learn about investing in real property.  It was a perfect fit.  I enjoy the people I meet, from the first time homebuyer looking to purchase their first home to the experienced buyer looking to make a change.  The fundamentals of life I was raised with and my fourteen years of real estate experience allow me to say to you that I am a Realtor with SASS (Straight Advice Solid Service).

I am licensed in Washington & Oregon.  In January 2009 I added the qualification of Broker/Co-Owner to my resume.  My office in Milton Freewater OR is located at 129 S Columbia and is a satellite office of Coldwell Banker First Realtors here in Walla Walla.  I believe the Milton Freewater area is an undiscovered gem.

Real estate is picking up in Milton Freewater the surrounding area.  Low MF frogwaterinterest rates and the new first time homebuyer credit are definitely giving the market a boost.  Milton Freewater is a nice, quiet community on the edge of the Walla Walla Valley with a lot of things to offer.   It is the host of the annual Muddy Frogwater festival in August (http://www.muddyfrogwaterfestival.com/), has the only drive-in movie theater the in area, several apple orchards, a skatepark, golf course and just a stones throw away from camping, fishing, skiing & more.  Come see for yourself what this wonderful area this is.

You can search for available listings in Washington or Oregon on our website www.coldwellbankerfirstrealtors.com.

We are hoping for clear, calm, warm weather for our major eventWW Valley 001. It has been cold and windy all week so we hope it will be good for Saturday and Sunday. I did see a balloon or two up early this morning so we are encouraged.

Walla Walla is such a great place to live and be able to be entertained at so many levels. For a small comWW Valley 014munity it is awesome. You just have to look and you are able to stay very busy. My wife and I will be at the stampede this weekend touring the small booths and attending the horse races. Tuesday it all changes and we will attend the symphony, then on Wednesday I hold a executive meeting here in my office for the Shakespeare summer play we are holding August 5th to 9th in the outdoor amphitheater at Fort Walla Walla. The play will be the Taming of the Shrew. It is wonderful outdoors in August.

Real estate is going well and interest rates are unbelievUS48BBR0052-FB~Fireworks-During-Night-Glow-Event-30th-Annual-Walla-Walla-Hot-Air-Balloon-Stampede-Washington-USA-Postersable. A lot of families are hoping to catch the market at the bottom. I feel it is just as difficult to catch the bottom of the real estate market as it would be to find the bottom of the stock market. You have more to lose in missing the rate opportunity than saving $5,000 in price.

Also, the new tax credit from the federal stimulus plan has been assisted by the State of Washington program which will advance the credit so buyers can 562-32outdoor040109_standalone_prod_affiliate_13secure funds to help close on their loan or reduce their loan amount. This is a once in a life time opportunity and I hope you advise any family member or friend of this wonderful opportunity before it expires in December of this year. If you need any questions answered please contact me or one of our associates. You can find a complete list of agents on your website, coldwellbankerfirstrealtors.com.

May has to improve weather wise. I do not have much of my garden WW Valley 020completed and I need to get it moving. I have a few items popping up but a few days of 80 degree weather would get to all start moving. If you have any photos of your flowers or garden you would like to share please send them to me at dledford@cbfr.biz…. I hope all is going well in your yard.

Little league is going great and it is so much fun to watch. John Junke who works for our property management department worked a game behind the plate and took one off the mask and it rattles you for awhile. You would not think a little leaguer would be able to generate that much power in a pitch, but they can. Believe me.

Call if I can help. Thanks for taking the time to read my ideas. Real estate in Walla Walla is great.
